Complementary Therapies
Complementary Therapies focus on the mind, body, spirit and the flow of energy through the body, that are used alongside traditional medicine.
Complementary therapies are a holistic approach to physical and mental health. They treat your wellbeing as a whole, rather than particular symptoms separately. You may use one or more of the therapies to treat a condition but you will find it improves other areas of your mind and body.
If you find yourself on a waiting list for regular treatment then complementary therapies are a great way of managing your symptoms right away. Treatment that the doctor has offered may not suit you due to their side effects so a complementary therapy might work well for you. They also work well together to improve the chances of a better outcome. Every treatment works differently for different people. So if something isn't working for you then try something else.
Check out our Healing A-Z where you can look up emotional and physical symptoms and find out what complementary therapies will help you with those conditions.
Any of the advice on our site should be used as a complement to other therapies and not as a replacement for regular medical care. You should always consult a doctor regarding your medical condition.
